Aesop's Fables
The Dog and The Meat
The Dog and The Meat
This is a classic Aesop’s fable about a greedy dog who finds a piece of meat and carries it in his mouth. While crossing a river, he sees his reflection in the water and, thinking it’s another dog with a bigger piece of meat, tries to snatch it. In the process, he opens his mouth, drops his own meat into the water, and loses it. This timeless tale teaches the lesson that greed can lead to loss and that one should be content with what they have.
